Riseson insurance is a personal and commercial lines insurance agency. Meaning we offer solutions for your personal cars , homes , and your business needs. In a world full of insurance agencies, it’s just as important to stand out from the crowd by superb service as it is by name. I’ve never named a child, but I’ve got to imagine it’s easier than naming a business.

My inspiration for Riseson insurance developed over time influenced by my experiences and ideals for a different type of agency. Working as an agent in a Fortune 100 company for seven years has certainly helped to shape my inspiration. However, mostly in ways I’d like not to ideate. I also knew I needed a name that would help people connect the ideas I want to communicate and understand the purpose of my company.

The Brainstorming process was the most tedious and difficult part of the process.

I had numerous ideation sessions. With myself, friends, family, business partners, and even ChatGPT. It is quite a shock to find out that most of the names that I thought were original were already the name of another company or five. This result was typical for 100s of the names I thought of. Every time I had the perfect name, I’d google it and it was already taken.

I dwindled down the names to a final four and ran them through the gauntlet of people to get feedback. Three of them more literal names or more direct is how I would describe them. Although the alternatives drew a clear connection to one of the company’s descriptors, they failed to create a new identity and fully illustrate the brand.

There were three main criteria I was considering when developing the name. The first was the memorability or uniqueness of the name. A new word using a combination of words accomplishes this. It also allows me to check the second box of brand alignment. The name itself highlights key components of the brand as I’ll explain. Lastly, the name can’t be in use or cost me a ton to acquire. Again, new word, no problem.

There are three primary layers to the name consisting of the literal terms, the new meaning, and the word play.

The literal meaning of Rise to move from a lower place to a higher place and son being a boy or man in relation to both parents. The literal meaning to move your son from a lower to a higher place. Rise specifically speaks to me as verb of certainty; demanding there is no other option but to rise. Son represents the children or broader community. Riseson is a demand or duty to uplift the community. The double entendre here is in the pronunciation of son as it’s the same as sun [sən]. Also visualized in the logo. An homage to the founding state of Riseson, Arizona the Valley of the Sun, and by extension the meaning of Riseson applied to Arizona. Pronouced as the two independent words rīz-sən.

You might have noticed Risesun is the inverse of sunrise implicit the idea of a new beginning. Communicating the idea that Riseson is a new beginning for you and as an insurance agency.

The name Riseson communicates a dedication to the communities we serve. Not just in the capacity of insurance, but in any regard that improves our community. Insurance is our vehicle to improve our community.
